Find the roots of the quadratic equation `3x^2-2sqrt(6)x+2=0`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`3x^2 - 2sqrt6x +2=0`
split mid term `-2sqrt6 in alpha & beta`
such that `alpha+ beta= -2sqrt6x`
`alpha*beta=(3x^2)(2)= 6x^2`
`alpha= -sqrt6x`
`beta=-sqrt6 x`
now in eqn `3x^2 - sqrt6 x - sqrt 6 x + 2 = 0`
`sqrt 3 x [ sqrt3x - sqrt 2] - sqrt 2[sqrt3x-sqrt2] = 0`
