A brooch is made with silver wire in the form of a circle with diameter 35 mm. The wire is also used in making 5 diameters which divide the circle into 10 equal sectors as shown in Fig. 12.12. Find :
(i)  the total length of the silver wire required.
(ii)  the area of each sector of the brooch.

The correct Answer is:
(i) `285mm`
(ii) `96.25mm^2`

(i) Circumference of the circular part of the brooch
`=2pi(35/2)mm`
`=(22/7)xx35`
`=110mm`
Length of the 5 diameters`=5xx35=175mm`
So, total length of the silver wire`=(110+175)=285mm`
(ii) Area of each sector
`=(1/10)xx`Area of the circle
` = (1/10)pi(35/2)^2`
`=96.25mm^2`
