(a) `square - 5/8 = 1/4`
As we can see, `1/4` more than `5/8` is the missing number
`square - 5/8 = 1/4`
`square = 5/8 + 1/4`
`square = (5 × 1 + 1 × 2) / 8`
`square = (5 + 2) / 8`
`square = 7/8`
(b) `square - 1/5 = 1/2`
As we can see, `1/2` more than `1/5` is the missing number
`square - 1/5 = 1/2`
`square = 1/5 + 1/2`
`square = (1 × 2) / (5 × 2) + (1 × 5) / (2 × 5)`
`square = 2/10 + 5/10`
`square = 7/10`
(c) `1/2 - square = 1/6`
As we can see, `1/6` less than `1/2 `is the missing number
`1/2 - square = 1/6`
`square = 1/2 - 1/6`
`square = (1 × 3) / (2 × 3) - (1 × 1) / (6 × 1)`
`square = (3 - 1) / 6`
`square = 1/3 `
