What are paramagnetic materials ? Give examples.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Paramagnetic materials : These materials are attracted by magnetic fields. They contain permanent magnetic dipoles due to presence of atoms, ions or molecules with unpaired electrons. Eg, `O_(2), Cu^(2+), Fe^(2+) and Cr^(3+)` etc. The magnetic dipoles are represented by arrows.
