Example (a): Can you tell which one is greater`(5^2) xx 3` or `(5^2)^5` ?
Example (b): Express the following terms in the exponential form :
(i) `(2 xx 3)^5`
(ii) `(2a)^4`
(iii) `(-4m)^3`

Text Solution

Solution (a):
`(5^2)*3 = 25*3 = 75`
`(5^2)^3 = 5^2*5^2*5^2`
`= 25*25*25`
`= 5^6= 15625`
`15625> 75`
so, `(5^2)^3 > (5^2)*3`
Solution (b):
(i) `(2*3)^5`
`= (2*3)(2*3)(2*3)(2*3)(2*3)`
