Why hnRNA is required to undergo splicing?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

In eukaryotes, the primary transcripts contain both the exons and the introns. The hn RNA, therefore, contains transcripts both from exons and introns and is non-functional. Hence, it undergoes a process of splicing where the introns are removed and exons are joined in a definite order to make it functional.
