Give an account of mRNA....

Give an account of mRNA.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The mRNA is synthesized on a DNA template by transcription and is complementary to it. The mRNA synthesis is initiated at 5. end and progressed towards 3. end in the presence of RNA polymerase enzyme.
It acts as a messenger to carry the genetic information from DNA to the cytoplasmic site of protein synthesis.
It has a very short lifespan and is broken by ribonucleases.
