Katarina is a botanist studying the production of pears by two types of pear trees. She noticed that Type A trees produced 20 percent more pears than Type B trees did. Based on Katarina’s observation, if the Type A trees produced 144 pears, how many pears did the Type B trees produce?

A gardener is planting two type of trees. *Type A is three feet tall and graws at a rate of 14 inches per year. *Type B is five tall and grows at a rate of 9 inches per year. How many year will it take for these trees to grow to the same height?

In the manufacturer of electronic circuits has a stock of 200 resistors, 120 transistors and 150 capacitors and is required to produce two types of circuits A and B. Type A requires 20 resistors, 10 transistors and 10 capacitors. Type B requires 10 resistros, 20 transistors and 30 capacitors, If the profit on type A circuit is 50 and that on type B circuit is 60 formulate this problem as LPP, so that hte manufacturer can maximise his profit.

A man owns a field of area 1,000 sq.m. He wants to plant fruit trees in it. He has a sum of Rs. 1,400 to purchase young trees. He has the choice of two types of the tree. Type A requires 10 sq.m of ground per tree and cost. Rs. 20 per tree and type B requires 20 sq.m of ground per tree and cost Rs. 25 per tree. When fully grown, type A produces an average of 20 kg fruit Which can be sold at a profit of Rs. 2 per kg and type B produces. an average of 40 kg of fruit which can be sold at a profit.of Rs. 1.50 per kg. How many of each type should he plant to achieve maximum profit when the trees are fully grown? What is the maximum profit?

A gardener is planting two types of trees. One type is seven feet tall and grows at a rate of 8 inches per year. The other type is four feet tall and its rate of the growth is 50% greater than the rate of the other tree. In how many years will the two grow to the same height?

A manufacturer of clectronic circuits has a stock of 200 resistors, 120 transistors and 150 capacitors and is required to produce two types of circuits A and B. Type A requires 20 resistors, 10 transistors and 10 capacitors. Type B requires 10 resistors, 20 transistors and 30 capacitors.
