Calculate the resistance of a 1 Km long ...

Calculate the resistance of a 1 Km long copper wire of area of cross section `2 xx 10^(-2) cm^(2)`. The resistivity of copper is `1.623 xx 10^(-8)` ohm-meter.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`R= rho (I)/(A)`
`=(1.623xx10^(-8)xx1000)/(2xx10^(-2)xx10^(-4)m^(2))`
`=0.81xx10Omega= 8.1 Omega` .
