In a circuit if two resistors of 4 `Omega` and 8 `Omega` are connected in parallel, find out the ratio of current passing through the two resistors.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`R_(1)=4 Omega`
`R_(2) Omega`
Potential difference =V
`I_(1) = (V)/(R_(1))=(V)/(4Omega)`
`I_(2)= (V)/(R_(2))=(V)/(8 Omega)`
`(I_(1))/(I_(2))= (V//4)/(V//8)`
or `(I_(1))/(I_(2))=(8)/(4)`
or `(I_(1))/(I_(2))=(2)/(1)`
`:. I_(1): I_(2)= 2:1`
