100 J of heat is produced each second in a 4 `Omega` resistor. Find the potential difference across the resistor.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

H= 100 J `, R= 4 Omega t = 1 ` sec .
`H=I^(2) Rt`
`I^(2) =(H)/(Rt)`
`I = sqrt((H)/(Rt))=sqrt((100)/(4xx1))=sqrt((100)/(4))=sqrt(25)=5` Ampere.
Now V= IR
V=`5xx4`
V= 20 V.
