The resistivity of manganese wire of len...

The resistivity of manganese wire of length 1 m is `1.84xx10^-6Omegam" at "20^(@)C`. If the diameter of the wire is `3xx10^-4m`, what will be the resistance of the wire at that temperature?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Given, Resistivity `rho=1.84xx10^(-6)Omegam`
Length l = 1m, Diameter d = `3xx10^(-4)m`
Area of cross section
`A=(pid^(2))/4=22/7xx(3xx10^(-4)xx3xx10^(-4))/4=99/14xx10^(-8)m^(2)`.
Resistance `R=(rhoxxl)/A=(1.84xx1xx14xx10^(-6))/(99xx10^(-8))`
= `(25.76xx10^(2))/99=26.02Omega`
