Show four different ways in which three resistors of Rohm each may be connected in a circuit. In which case is the equivalent resistance of the combination.
i] Maximum
ii] Minimum

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The four different ways in which resistors of Rohm can be connected are as follows:
i] series connection
ii] Parallel connection
iii] 2 resistors in series and one in parallel
iv] 2 resistors in parallel and one in series

Equivalent resistances in each case is
i] `R/3`
ii] 3R
iii] `(2R)/3`
iv] `(3R)/2`
Hence, the maximum resistance is in case (ii) and minimum is in case (i).
