Consider a circular loop of wire lying in the plane of the table. Let the current pass through the loop clockwise . Apply the right-hand rule to find out the direction of the magnetic field inside and outside the loop.

Let the loop by place on the table with current flowing in the clockwise direction as shown in the figure . By applying the right-hand thumb rule to the left side [and right side] of the loop, we find that magnetic field lines inside the loop are going out of the table, while outside the loop they are coming into the table, Thus, the magnetic field is directed outwards inside the loop and inwards outside the loop .
