What are magnetic field lines ? How is the direction of a magnetic field at a point determined ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

A magnetic field line is the path along which a unit north pole tends to move. The direction of a magnetic field is determined by placing a small compass needle . The direction of deflection of the north pole of the compass needle gives the direction of the magnetic field at the point.
