The magnetic field produced by a coil of...

The magnetic field produced by a coil of n turns, at its centre, is n times as large as that produced by a single turn. Give reason to justify this statement

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

If a coil has several turns, current flows in these turns in the same direction and hence, the magnetic field produced is also in the same direction. So, the field adds up. Thus, the total magnetic field is directly proportional to the number of turns.
