Name and state the two rules for finding the direction of magnetic field produced by an electric current through a straight conductor.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The direction of magnetic field is given by the Right-Hand Thumb Rule : If the current-carrying straight wire is held in the right hand with the thumb pointing towards the direction of current, then the direction of fingers encircling the conductor give the direction of the magnetic field.
