Derive formula for induced charge and pr...

Derive formula for induced charge and prove that it is independent of rate of change in flux.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

From Faraday.s law, we have learnt that the magnitude of the induced emf is,
`|epsilon|=(DeltaPhi_B)/(Deltat)`…(1)
However,
`|epsilon|=Ir=(DeltaQ)/(Deltat)r`…(2)
Here r is resistance of coil.
Thus, from equations (1) and (2)
`(DeltaPhi_B)/(Deltat)=(DeltaQ)/(Deltat)r`
`therefore DeltaPhi_B=DeltaQr`
`therefore DeltaQ=(DeltaPhi_B)/r`
So, induced charge is only depends on change in flux but it does not depend on rate of change of flux.
