Magnetic Dip : Magnetic dip `(delta)` at a place is defined as the angle which the direction of total strength of earth.s magnetic field `vecB_E` subtends with a horizontal line along the magnetic meridian as shown in Fig.

Magnetic Declination : Magnetic declination (D) at a place is defined as the angle whcih magnetic meridian at that place subtends from the geographic meridian. In fig. angle D is the magnetic declination.
