List the disadvantages of using fosil fuels.

Fosil fuels are formed from biomass which contains hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen and sulphur.
When these are burnt, oxides of carbon, nitrogen and sulphur, and water are released into the atmosphere. In high concentrations, these gases are poisonous. They cause acid rain. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas and causes global warming.
