Dihybrid cross is the cross between two true breeding varieties differing in two pairs of contrasting characters. Mendel crossed true breeding Round and yellow seeded pea plants with green and wrinkled pea plants.
Seed colour `to` Yellow (YY) Dominant
Green (yy) `to` Recessive
Seed shape `to` round (RR) Dominant
Wrinkled (rr) `to` Recessive
He got heterozygous yellow and round seeded pea plants in `F_1` generation
He crossed the `F_1` generation pea plants and he got four kinds of plants in the ratio 9:3:3:1 in `F_1` generation.
