A car covers 60 km at a uniform speed of 120 kmph and the text 60 km at a uniform speed of 80 kmph.Find the total time taken.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

For uniform speed,we have v=`(S)/(t)` (or) S=vt
If the car takens time `t_(1)` to cover the first 60 km,`t_(1)=(S)/(v)=(60 km)/(120 km//h)=(1)/(2)`h=30 minutes
Similarly. If it takes time `t_(2)` to cover the next 60 km ,`t_(2)=(S)/(v)=(60km)/(80km//h)=(3)/(4)h=45` minutes
The total time taken us `t_(1)+t_(2)=30+45=75` minutes.
