How is average velocity different from instantaneous velocity?

Average velocity:
i)It is defined as ratio `Deltax` displacement to the time interval `Deltat`. `barv_(x)=(Deltax)/(Deltat)-(x_(2)-x_(1))/(t_(2)t_(1))`.
(ii)Average velocity is independent of the path followed by the particle between initial and final positions.
Instantaneous velocity:
i)The velocity of a particle at a particular instant of time is known as instaneous velocity .
i.e., `v_(x)underset(Deltato0)(Lm)(Deltax)/(Deltat)=(dx)/(dt)`
ii)Instantaneous velocity is the rate of change of position with time.
