A body covers 26, 28, 30, 32 meters in 10^(th), 11^(th), 12^(th) and 13^(th) seconds respectively. The body starts

A

from rest and moves with uniform acceleration.

B

from rest and moves with uniform velocity.

C

with an initial velocity and moves with uniform  acceleration.

D

with an initial velocity and moves with uniform velocity.

The correct Answer is:
C

`26 = u +(a)/(2) (2xx10-1) =u+(19)/(2) a " "...(i)`
`28 = u + a/2 (2xx10 -1) = u +(19)/(2) a " "(i) `
Subtract (i) from (ii), we get
`28-26 =(21)/(2) a -(19)/2a = a " or " a = 2ms^(-2)`
Substituting this value of a in equation (i) , we get `26 = u +(2)/(2) (19) " or " u = 7ms^(-1)`
Clearly , the body has a non-zero initial velocity and moves with uniform acceleration .
