How fats undergo the process of respiration ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Fats are first broken down into glycerol and fatty acids. Fatty acids are degraded into acetyl CoA and enter the pathway while glycerol is converted to PGAL (phosphoglyceraldehyde) which form pyruvate after glycolysis and result in acetyl CoA formation and these enter into Krebs cycle.
