What relationship exists between the meiocyte and gamete w.r.t. chromosome number ?

Meiocyte is a cell which undergose reduction devision i.e., meiosis. It contains two sats of chromosomes i.e., diploid (2n) and after the meiosis it forms haploid gametes . So number of chromosomes in gamete is half that of meiocyte.
Gamete chromosomes `=(1)/(2)xx` meiocyte chromosomes
