Leaving aside the base, the remaining five faces of the tank are to be covered with lies.
Length of each edge of the tank `= 1.5 m = (1.5 xx 100) cm`
`= 150 cm`.
Surface area of each face `= (150 xx 150) cm^(2)`
Total surface area of five faces to be covered with tiles
`= (5 xx 150 xx 150) cm^(2)`
Area of each square tile `= (25 xx 25) cm^(2)`
Number of tiles required `= ("surface area of five faces")/("area of each tile")`
`= ((5 xx 150 xx 150)/(25 xx 25)) = 180`
Cost of 12 tiles = Rs 540
Cost of 1 tile `= Rs ((540)/(12))`
Cost of 180 tiles `= Rs ((540)/(12) xx 180) = Rs 8100`
