Find the (i) Volume,
(ii) Area of curved surface and
(iii) Total surface area of a cylinder having radius of the base `14 cm` and height `30 cm.`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Here, `r = 14 cm` and `h = 30 cm`
(i) Volume of the cylinder `= (pi r^(2)h)` cubic units
`= ((22)/(7) xx 14 xx 14 xx 30) cm^(3) = 18480 cm^(3)`
(ii) Curved surface area of the cylinder `= (2pi rh)` sq units
`= ((2 xx (22)/(7) xx 14 xx 30) cm^(2) = 2640 cm^(2)`
(iii) Total surface area of the cylinder
`= (2pirh + 2pi r^(2)) " sq units " = 2pi r(r + h)` sq units
`= {2 xx (22)/(7) xx 14 xx (14 + 30)} cm^(2) = 3872 cm^(2)`
