How much cloth 2.5 m wide will be required to make a conical tent having base radius 7 m and height 24 m ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
220 m

`l = sqrt((24)^(2) + 7^(2)) m = sqrt(625)m = 25m`
Area of cloth `= pi rl = ((22)/(7) xx 7 xx 25) m^(2) = 550 m^(2)`
Length of cloth `= ("area")/("width") = ((550)/(2.5)) m = 220m`
