The correct Answer is:
B

Total number of families = 1500.
Let `E_(1) , E_(2) , E_(3)` be the events that the selected family has 2 girls , 1 girl and 0 girl respectively . Then ,
(i) P (selected family has 2 girls)
= `P(E_(1)) = ("number of families having 2 girls")/("total number of families") = (102)/(1500) = 0.068`
(ii) P (selected family has 1 girl )
`= P(E_(2)) = ("number of families having 1 girl")/("total number of families") = (675)/(1500) = 0.45`.
(iii) P(selected family has 0 girl)
`= P (E_(3)) = ("number of families having 0 girls")/("total number of families") = (723)/(1500) = 0.482 `.
