Consider the equation 2x- 3y =6
This equation may be written as `x/3+y/-2 = 1 `
Thus ,it cuts the x-axis at A(3,0) and the y-axis at B(0,-2)
`therefore` AB represents the line 2x -2y = 6

Clearly, the points (0,0) satisfies `2x -3y lt 6`
So we shade that part of the plane divided by AB which contains (0,0)
The shaded part of the plane together with all the points on line AB forms the solution set of ` 2x - 3y gt 6,` as shown above
