Per two gram of charcoal, a gas is adsorbed by 0.1g and 0.2g at 10 torr and 80 torr pressure respectively. Calculate the n value in Freundlich adsorption isotherm.

Text Solution

`(x)/(m)=K.P^(1//n)(or)(x_(1))/(x_(2))=((P_(1))/(P_(2)))^(1//n)`
Substituting the value,
`(0.1)/(0.2)=((10)/(80))^(1//n) (or) ((1)/(2))^(1)=((1)/(2))^(3//n)`
Therefore, the value of n is3.
