To what depth must a rubber ball be taken in deep sea so that its volume is decreased by 0.1% (The bulk modulus of rubber is `9.8 xx 10 ^(8) N//m^(2)`and density of sea water is `10 ^(3) kgm^(-3))`

The percentage decrease in volume
`(Delta V )/(V) xx 100 = 0.1`
`therefore (Delta V)/(V) = (0.1)/(100)`
Let the rubber ball be taken up to depth h.
`therefore` Bulk modulus `B = | (P )/( Delta V //V )| = (h rho g )/( Delta V //V)`
`therefore h = ( B xx Delta V //V )/( rho g )`
`therefore h = (9.8 xx 10^(8) xx 0.001)/( 10 ^(3) xx 9.8)`
`therefore h = 100 m`
