20% aqueous FeCl(3) solution has density...

20% aqueous `FeCl_(3)` solution has density of 1.1 gm/mL then molar concentration of this solution is ……….

A

`0.028`

B

`1.357`

C

`0.163`

D

`1.47`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

`20% FeCl_(3)` solution means 20 gm `FeCl_(3)` is present in 100 gm of solution.
`therefore` Volume of 100 gm solution `= (100)/(1.1)=90.91` mL
Moles of 20 gm `FeCl_(3)` solution `= (20)/(162)=0.1234` mol
So, molar concentration solution
`= (0.1234xx1000)/(90.91)=1.357 M`
