How ionic nature of trihalides of IIIA elements is related to their a cidic character?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The more the covalent nature, the more is the deficiences and more is the acidic nature. Similarly the bigger the size of halogen atom, the less is the back bonding and more is the Lewis acidic nature. Therefore, ionic nature of the trihalides of IIIA group elements is inversely related to their acidic nature.
