(i) For short duration : Limewater turns milky due of formation of `CaCO_(3)`, which iws insoluble in water .
`underset (("Lime water"))(Ca(OH)_(2)(aq))+CO_(2)(g)rarr underset(("White ppt"))(CaCO_(3)(S)+)H_(2)O(l)`
(ii) For Long duration : A clear solution is obtained due to formation of calcium bicarbonate, `Ca(HCO_(3))_(2)` which is soluble in water
`CaCO_(3)(S)+H_(2)O(l)+CO_(2)(g)rarrCa(HCO_(3))_(2)(aq)`
