Zinc
Ore of zinc is Zinc blende (ZnS).
Sulphide ore is heated below its melting point in the presence of air to convert it into metal oxide. It is called Roasting.
`2ZnS(s) + 3O_(2)(s) overset("Roasting")rarr 2ZnO(s)+2SO_(2)(g)`
Reduction of oxide ore : It is the process of conversion of metal oxide ore into metal. It can be done by heating the oxides.
`ZnO(s) + C(s) rarr Zn(s) + CO(g)`
