Hydrogen is not used as a common fuel because :
(i) When hydrogen is lighted, it burns with an explosion.
(ii) It is very difficult to store and transport hydrogen.
Hydrogen as a fuel :
Fuel cells are being developed that can store energy produced by burning hydrogen. Development of some materials that can absorb hydrogen and then release it at a steady rate.

There are 115 elements known till today. Some of them are metals and some are non-metals. Metals are usually hard, malleable and ductile and have metallic lustre. Non-metals are usually soft, do not posses lustre and are not malleable and ductile. But iodine is a non-metal which has metallic lustre. Iodine is also important for us.
