The sigmabond is formed by axial overlap along internuclear axis and is present in the following cases. In the case a, b & d can form sigma bond, and d cannot form sigma bond. a) 15 and 1S b) 1S and 2`P_x` d) 1S and 2S `2P_y and 2P_y` atomic orbitals are involved in the sidwise overlap leading to the formation of `pi`-bond.
