N-F bond is more polar than N-H bond. But `NH_3` is more polar than `NF_3`. Comment

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

In `NH_3` the N-H bond is polar towards .N.atom. Polarisation of bonds and lone pair are additive. `mu` is 1.46D.
In `NF_3`, the N-F bond is polar away to .N.atom. Polarisation of bonds and lone pair are subtractive. `mu` is 0.24D
