If voltage V=(100pm5) V and current I=(...

If voltage `V=(100pm5)` V and current `I=(10pm0.2)` A, the percentage error in resistance `R` is

A

`5.2%`

B

`2.5%`

C

`7%`

D

`3.5%`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
C

Here , `V= (100 +-5)V, I= (10+-0.2)A`
As `R= (V)/(I)= (100)/(10)= 10` ohm
`:. (DeltaR)/(R)= ((DeltaV)/(V)+ (DeltaI)/(I))= ((5)/(100)+(0.2)/(10))= (7)/(100)`
The percentage error in R is `(DeltaR)/(R)xx 100= (7)/(100) xx 100= 7%`
