The terminology of different parts of the electromagnetic spectrum is given in the text. Use the formula E = h ν (for energy of a quantum of radiation: photon) and obtain the photon energy in units of eV for different parts of the electromagnetic spectrum. In what way are the different scales of photon energies that you obtain related to the sources of electromagnetic radiation?

The photon of given energy are released during transition between energy levels in the atom and the emitted photon energy is equal to difference of energies of energy levels, among which the transition has taken place.
For `lambda=1m`
`E=hupsilon=(hc)/(lambda)=(6.63xx10^(-34)xx3xx10^(8))/(1)J`
`E=(19.89xx10^(-26))/(1.6xx10^(-19))eV=12.425xx10^(-7)eV`
So, for emission of radio waves the energy difference betweeen energy levels should be `12.425xx10^(-7)eV`
