A metal coin at the bottom of a beaker ...

A metal coin at the bottom of a beaker filled with a liquid of refractive index `4//3` to height of `6 cm`. To an observer looking from above the surface of the liquid, coin will appear at a depth of (consider paraxial rays).

A

`4.5` cm

B

`6.75` cm

C

`1.5` cm

D

`7.5` cm

The correct Answer is:
C

Here, `mu=(4)/(3)`, Real debth=`6` cm
`mu("Real debth")/("Apparent debth")`
Apparent debth = `(6)/(4//3)=(18)/(4)=4.5` cm
The coin will appear to be raised = `6` cm `-4.5` cm = `1.5` cm
