(i) The force applied on a surface in a direction perpendicular to the surface is called thrust. Due to thrust liquid flow out from the hole of container .
Thrust is a force . Its SI unit is Newton (N).Its dimensional formula is `[M^(1)L^(1)T^(-2)]`.
(ii) Pressure : Force acting on a surface per unit area , in a direction perpendicular to it is called pressure on the surface.
If F acting perpendicular to the surface of area A then pressure `P=(F)/(A)`
SI unit of pressure `(N)/(m^(2))`Pascal (Pa)
CGS unit of pressure is `("dyne")/(cm^(2))`.
Dimensional formula of pressure is `[M^(1)L^(-1)T^(-2)]`.
