Explain Hydrostatic Paradox.

Below figure isa illustration of hydrostatic paradox.

Pressure at any point in the liquid does not depend on the shape or area of vessel .This fact is known as hydrostatic paradox.
Consider vessels of different shape as shown in figure .
They are connected at the bottom by a horizontal pipe.
On filling with water the level in the three vessels is the same though they hold different amount of water .
This shows that water at the bottom has the same pressure below each section of the vessel.
