Pascal.s law of pressure transmission : The pressure in a fluid at rest is same at all points which are at the same height . A change in pressure applied to an enclosed fluid is transmitted undiminished to every point of the fluid and the walls of the containing vessel.

Consider a horizontal cylinder with a piston and three vertical tubes at different point . The pressure in the cylinder is indicated by the height of liquid cloumn in the vertical tubes.
If by pushing piston ,the fluid level rises in all the tubes , again reaching the same level in each on them .
This indicates that when the pressure on the cylinder was increased ,it was distributed uniformly throughout.
Number of devices are based on this law such as door closer , hydraulic brakes , hydraulic lift and shock -absorber in vehicles.
