The path taken by a particle in flowing fluid is called its line of flow . In above figure the path of a particle is shown.

Generally , in a moving fluid ,the value of velocity and direction is changing. Hence particles passing through one point may not move in one path .
The velocity of particle passing through a point in steady flow remains same .
Suppose ,the velocity of particle passed through point P is `vecV_(P)`, the velocities pass through points Q,R and S are `vecV_(Q),vecV_(R)andvecV_(S)`.
Hence , in steady flow , the path of particle passed through point P is shown as in figure.
In steady flows such type of steady path is known as streamline.
In steady flow , line of flow and streamline coincide to each other.
Streamline : The path in which the tangent to the streamline at any point gives the direction of all the particle passing through that point ". then this path is known as streamline.
The flow in which the streamline can be defined then this flow is streamline flow.
In unstedy flow ,flow of line be defined but streamline cannot be.
