Obtain the velocity of projected particl...

Obtain the velocity of projected particle executing uniform circular motion.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The linear velocity of a particle moving in a circular path of radius A with angular speed `omega` is the radius time to angular velocity.
`therefore v= A omega`
The direction of linear velocity of a particle at time t is in the direction of tangent at a point on the circle at that time.
According to figure, two matual components of linear velocity `A omega`, component `A omega sin (omega t+ phi)` in X-axis direction, is the velocity of projection on X-axis of a particle at time t.
`therefore v(t)= -A omega sin (omega t+phi)`
Direction of v(t) is oppositre to X-axis and it is the isntantaneous velocity of particle executing SHM.
