Which of the followng relationships between the acceleration a and the displacement x of a particle involve simple harmonic motion?
`a= - 10x`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

There are two conditions for particle executes SHM.
(i) Acceleration is directly proportional to displacement.
Acceleration is always towards mean position
`therefore " Acceleration " a= - omega^(2)x`
`a= 10x`
This given relation is fit with `a= -omega^(2)x` hence it indicates SHM.
