In the equation of motion of waves in x-...

In the equation of motion of waves in x-direction is given by `y= 10^(-4) sin(600t-2x+(pi)/(3))` where x and y are in metre and t is in second, then the velocity of wave will be…………`ms^(-1)`.

A

300

B

600

C

1200

D

200

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

Comparing given equation with general equation,
`y= A sin (omega t-kx + phi)`
`omega= 600 (rad)/(s)" and "k= 2 (rad)/(m)`
`therefore v= (omega)/(k)`
`=(600)/(2)= 300 m"/"s`.
